Homemade Nutella (Chocolate Hazelnut Spread)

Creamy, chocolatey, and perfectly spreadable — this DIY Nutella is made with real hazelnuts and cocoa for a flavor that’s deep, rich, and naturally satisfying.

You’ll Need:

2 cups hazelnuts (raw or roasted, unsalted)

½ cup powdered sugar

¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tbsp neutral oil (hazelnut, avocado, or coconut)

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

¼ cup melted dark or milk chocolate (optional for richer flavor)

How to Make It:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread hazelnuts on a baking sheet and roast for 10–12 minutes until aromatic. Let them cool slightly.

2. Wrap the hazelnuts in a clean kitchen towel and rub them to remove most of the skins.

3. Transfer hazelnuts to a high-speed blender or food processor. Blend for 5–10 minutes, pausing to scrape down the sides. The nuts will first crumble, then turn pasty, and finally become smooth and creamy.

4. Add cocoa powder, powdered sugar, oil, vanilla, and salt. Blend again until glossy and smooth.

5. If using melted chocolate, add it now and blend once more.

6. Transfer to a clean jar with a tight lid. Store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or refrigerate for up to 1 month.

Perfect on toast, crepes, or straight from the spoon.

Homemade Peanut Butter

Nutty, smooth, and slightly sweet — this peanut butter is endlessly customizable and incredibly satisfying.

You’ll Need:

2 cups roasted unsalted peanuts (or raw peanuts, freshly roasted)

1–2 tbsp neutral oil (optional for smoother texture)

½ tsp salt

1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

How to Make It:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread peanuts on a baking sheet and roast for 8–10 minutes, stirring once or twice. Let cool slightly.

2. Add peanuts to a blender or food processor. Blend for 5–10 minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape the sides. The mixture will go from coarse to creamy as natural oils release.

3. For a softer texture, add oil one tablespoon at a time.

4. Add salt and honey (if desired), then blend again until fully incorporated.

5. Spoon into a clean jar and refrigerate. Keeps well for 2–3 weeks.

A perfect companion to toast, smoothies, and baking recipes.
