Ingredients:
1 round sourdough bread loaf (or similar sturdy bread bowl)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 lb lump crab meat
1/2 lb cooked shrimp, chopped
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
1–2 cloves garlic, minced (optional for extra flavor)
1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
Salt & pepper, to taste
Optional garnish: parsley, lemon wedges
Instructions:
1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Bread Bowl
Slice the top off the bread loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving about 1-inch thickness around the edges to create a bowl.
Save the bread pieces for dipping later if desired.
3. Make the Filling
In a large bowl, mix together:
Cream cheese
Mayonnaise
Mozzarella cheese
Crab meat
Chopped shrimp
Green onions
Garlic (if using)
Old Bay seasoning
Salt & pepper
Mix until well combined and creamy.
4. Stuff the Bread Bowl
Spoon the seafood mixture into the hollowed-out bread bowl. Pile it high!
5. Bake
Place the stuffed bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until hot and bubbly, and the top is golden.
6. Serve
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve with the extra bread pieces, crackers, or sliced baguette for dipping.
