400g spaghetti
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves minced garlic
300g shrimp (peeled and deveined)
1 cup whipping cream or heavy cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup chicken broth (or water)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Pinch of chili powder (optional)
Instructions
Cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Reserve some of the cooking water before draining.
Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and set aside.
Sauté the garlic in the same pan for 1 minute without burning.
Add the chicken broth and cream and let it simmer gently for a few minutes. Add the Parmesan cheese and mix until the sauce thickens. Season with salt, pepper, and chili powder if desired.
Add the shrimp and pasta to the sauce, mixing well. If necessary, adjust the consistency with the reserved cooking water.
Serve hot with fresh parsley and more Parmesan cheese.
