4 slices rustic sourdough bread, toasted

2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced

1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk ricotta for creaminess)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Optional (highly recommended for extra flavor):

Olive oil (for drizzling)

Fresh basil or arugula

Balsamic glaze or vinegar

Crushed red pepper flakes

Garlic clove (for rubbing on toast)

1. Toast the Bread:
Toast sourdough slices until golden and crisp. Optionally, rub a cut garlic clove on the warm toast for extra flavor.

2. Spread Ricotta:
Generously spread ricotta over each slice of toast. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

3. Top with Tomatoes:
Arrange sliced tomatoes on top of the ricotta. Add more salt and pepper to the tomatoes.

4. Finish:

Drizzle with olive oil.

Add fresh basil leaves or arugula.

Optionally, drizzle with a touch of balsamic glaze or a few drops of balsamic vinegar.

Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes if you like a kick.
