Ingredients:

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

4 slices of bread (preferably slightly stale or thick-cut)

Butter for frying

1. Make the batter:
In a shallow bowl or dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.

2. Dip the bread:
Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, letting it soak for about 10–15 seconds per side so it absorbs the liquid but doesn’t fall apart.

3. Fry the toast:
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a bit of butter. Once melted and sizzling, place the soaked bread onto the pan.

4. Cook until golden:
Cook each side for 2–3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Add more butter between batches as needed.

5. Serve warm:
Serve immediately with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
