4 ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled

1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 6–8 lemons)

1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)

6 to 8 cups cold water

Ice cubes

1. Make the fruit purée:
In a blender, combine the sliced peaches and strawberries. Blend until completely smooth.

2. Strain (optional):
For a smoother lemonade, strain the purée through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp and seeds.

3. Mix the lemonade:
In a large pitcher, stir together the fruit purée, fresh lemon juice, and sugar. Mix until the sugar dissolves.

4. Add water:
Pour in 6 to 8 cups of cold water, depending on how strong or diluted you like your lemonade. Stir well.

5. Chill and serve:
Add ice cubes and chill in the refrigerator before serving. Garnish with peach or strawberry slices, if desired.
