Mac ‘n’ Cheese Burger Wraps

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

For the Mac ‘n’ Cheese:

1½ cups elbow macaroni

1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup mozzarella cheese (optional for stretch)

1 cup milk

2 tbsp butter

1 tbsp flour (optional, for thickening)

Salt & pepper to taste

For the Burgers:

1 lb ground beef

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

Salt & pepper to taste

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)

4 slices cooked bacon (optional)

Wrap Assembly:

4 large flour tortillas

Lettuce (optional)

Sliced tomatoes (optional)

Extra shredded cheese (optional)

Pickles (optional)

Sauce (ketchup, mustard, ranch, or burger sauce)

1. Make the Mac ‘n’ Cheese:

1. Cook macaroni according to package instructions.

2. In a pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux (optional).

3. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until slightly thickened.

4. Stir in cheddar (and mozzarella if using) until smooth and creamy.

5. Add the drained pasta, mix well, season with salt and pepper.

 

2. Cook the Burgers:

1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

2. Form into 4 flat patties.

3. Cook on a skillet or grill over medium-high heat, 3–4 minutes per side or until done.

4. Let them rest for a couple of minutes.

 

3. Assemble the Wraps:

1. Warm tortillas slightly so they fold easily.

2. Place lettuce and tomato (if using) on each tortilla.

3. Add a burger patty.

4. Top with a generous scoop of mac ‘n’ cheese.

5. Add bacon, pickles, or sauce if desired.

6. Sprinkle extra cheese if you like it extra cheesy.

7. Fold in the sides and roll up like a burrito.

 

4. (Optional) Grill the Wrap:

Lightly toast the wrapped burrito in a dry pan or sandwich press for 2–3 minutes until golden and crisp.
