1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
2–3 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 tablespoon)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar (optional, for balance)
1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water (optional, for thickening)
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil (optional, for flavor depth)
Instructions:
1. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and vinegar (if using).
2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
3. If you want it thicker, mix cornstarch and water in a separate bowl, then stir into the sauce.
4. Simmer for another 1–2 minutes until thickened to your liking.
5. Stir in sesame oil at the end if desired.
6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before using.
