Ingredients
Strawberry Simple Syrup:
* 3 cups strawberries, washed, stems removed, and sliced
* 2 cups water
* 1 cup sugar
Sweet Tea:
* 3 cups boiling water
* 3 family-sized Lipton original tea bags
* 1 cup sugar
* 8 cups cold water
* Juice of 1 lemon
* 1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)
* 6 to 8 whole strawberries, with stems intact and a small cut at the base (for garnish)
* Ice
Instructions
1. Make the Strawberry Syrup
In a saucepan, combine the strawberries, water, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes until the berries soften and sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or measuring cup, pressing down gently to extract all the juice. Discard the solids. Chill the syrup in the refrigerator.
2. Brew the Sweet Tea
Pour the boiling water over the tea bags in a large heatproof bowl or measuring cup. Let steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove tea bags and stir in the sugar until fully dissolved.
3. Combine Everything
In a large pitcher, combine the sweet tea, cold water, lemon juice, and chilled strawberry syrup. Stir well to mix.
4. Serve
Fill glasses with ice. Pour in the strawberry sweet tea and garnish with a lemon slice and a fresh strawberry.
