Homemade Dinner Rolls
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 tablespoons sugar
1¼ cups warm milk
¼ cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
½ teaspoon salt
For Brushing:
1 egg white + 2 tablespoons water (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons melted butter (after baking)
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine yeast and sugar. Add warm milk and let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
2. Stir in oil, salt, and eggs. Mix well.
3. Begin adding flour gradually — one cup at a time — stirring or mixing until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes on a lightly floured surface, or until smooth and elastic.
5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
6. Punch down the dough, divide into 16–24 equal pieces, and roll each into a smooth ball.
7. Arrange balls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let them rest for another 30 minutes to rise again.
8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
9. Brush the tops with egg wash for that golden, glossy finish.
10. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. As soon as they’re out of the oven, brush with melted butter for extra flavor.

1. In a bowl, mix all ingredients until well blended.
2. Spoon the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap and roll into a log.
3. Seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
4. Slice and serve with warm dinner rolls, grilled steak, toast, bagels, or roasted vegetables.
Serving Tip:
These rolls are perfect with soup, holiday roasts, or even with morning tea or coffee. For a richer twist, serve with a pat of chilled garlic herb butter on top.
