Ingredients (Per cup):
– 1 cup warm water (clear glass works best)
– 2–3 tbsp vegetable oil
– 4–6 drops of food coloring (multiple colors)
– Optional: clear drinking glass, small bowl, fork or toothpick
Directions:
1. Fill Your Fireworks Base:
Fill a clear glass about ¾ full with warm water.
2. Create the Color Layer:
In a small separate bowl, add 2–3 tbsp of oil.
Add several drops of different food coloring into the oil (the drops will stay intact like beads).
Gently mix the oil and color with a fork or toothpick—do not overmix, just slightly break the surface tension.
3. Let the Fireworks Begin:
Pour the oil/food coloring mixture into the cup of warm water.
Watch as the color droplets slowly fall and then burst into swirling fireworks underwater!
