Ingredients:
4 hot dogs
4 hot dog buns
1 lb ground beef
8 slices of bacon
½ cup BBQ sauce
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prep the Beef:
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Flatten each into a rectangle and season with salt and pepper.
2. Wrap the Dogs:
Wrap each hot dog in a layer of seasoned ground beef, covering it completely like a meat blanket.
3. Wrap in Bacon:
Wrap 2 slices of bacon around each beef-wrapped hot dog, spiraling down the length. Secure ends with toothpicks if needed.
4. Grill or Bake:
Grill Method: Grill over medium heat, turning frequently, for 10–12 minutes until the beef is cooked through and bacon is crisp.
Oven Method: Bake at 400°F (200°C) on a wire rack over a baking sheet for 20–25 minutes, broil for the last 2–3 minutes to crisp the bacon.
5. Add Cheese & BBQ Sauce:
In the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush with BBQ sauce and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Let it melt over the top.
6. Assemble & Serve:
Place the cheeseburger dogs in toasted hot dog buns. Drizzle with extra BBQ sauce if desired. Serve hot!
