2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 cup milk

2 tbsp butter (melted)

Oil for frying

1/2 cup sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1. Mix dry ingredients – In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

2. Add wet ingredients – Pour in milk and melted butter. Mix until a soft dough forms (add a touch more flour if too sticky).

3. Shape – On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into strips, twist each strip, and pinch the ends to hold the shape.

4. Heat oil – In a deep pan, heat oil to about 350°F (175°C).

5. Fry – Fry the twisted dough pieces until golden brown on all sides, about 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

6. Cinnamon sugar coating – Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. While donuts are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar until coated.

7. Serve warm for best texture.
