Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella, or a mix)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Toothpicks or butcher’s twine (for shaping, if needed)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or preheat a grill.
2. Mix the beef:
In a bowl, combine ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined (don’t overwork).
3. Form and stuff:
Divide the beef into 6–8 equal portions. Flatten each portion in your hand and place about a tablespoon of shredded cheese in the center. Carefully wrap the meat around the cheese, forming sausage-like logs. Seal edges well to keep cheese inside.
4. Cook options:
Oven: Place stuffed sausages on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment. Bake for 20–25 minutes until fully cooked and browned.
Grill or pan: Grill or pan-sear over medium heat, turning to brown all sides, until cooked through (internal temp 160°F / 71°C).
5. Optional step: Broil for the last 1–2 minutes for extra browning and melty cheese.
6. Serve: Garnish with parsley or green onions and serve with dipping sauce, mashed potatoes, or in buns like hot dogs!
