1. Activate the Yeast:

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the dry yeast over the top and stir gently. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.

2. Prepare the Dough:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.

Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and vegetable oil.

Mix until a dough forms.

3. Knead the Dough:

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8–10 minutes, or until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

4. First Proofing:

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning it once to coat all sides.

Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or plastic wrap.

Let it rise in a warm place for about 1–1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

5. Incorporate the Cheese:

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles.

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and flatten it out.

Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the dough.

Fold the dough over the cheese and knead gently to incorporate the cheese throughout the dough.

6. Shape the Dough:

Divide the dough into equal portions (depending on your preferred bread size).

Shape each portion into a ball or loaf, depending on your preference.

7. Second Proofing:

Place the shaped dough onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

Cover with a cloth and let it rise for another 30–45 minutes, or until puffy.

8. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

9. Bake the Bread:

Place the baking tray in the preheated oven.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

10. Cool and Serve:

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.

Once cooled, slice and enjoy your homemade cheese bread!
