Ingredients:
1½ lbs ground beef (80/20 works best)
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (plus 3–4 raw slices for topping)
Optional Topping:
Extra ketchup, BBQ sauce, or burger sauce
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, combine:
Ground beef
Breadcrumbs
Egg
Onion
Ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire
Garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Shredded cheddar and crumbled cooked bacon
3. Mix until just combined — don’t overwork it.
4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
5. Lay raw bacon strips over the top of the meatloaf.
6. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
7. In the last 10 minutes, optionally brush the top with ketchup or BBQ sauce and return to the oven.
8. Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
