3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 cup soy sauce
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
5 cloves garlic, mashed
1 ginger root, thinly sliced

In a large bowl, mix soy sauce and water. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add ginger and garlic.
Add chicken to the marinade. Marinate up to 3 days, or boil immediately in the mixture if short on time.
Grill the chicken on high heat until charred and cooked through.
Transfer grilled chicken to a pot on the grill, pour remaining sauce over, and steam briefly.
