Ingredients:
12 oz steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon)
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced (optional but recommended)
1 teaspoon crushed black pepper
1 sprig fresh rosemary or thyme (optional but classic)
Instructions:
1. Mix Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together:
Balsamic vinegar
Soy sauce
Olive oil
Garlic, black pepper, and herbs if using
2. Marinate the Steak:
Place steak in a dish or resealable bag.
Pour marinade over it and coat thoroughly.
Cover or seal and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 2 hours (not overnight — too long can break down the meat texture due to the vinegar).
3. Cook the Steak:
Remove from marinade and pat dry with paper towels.
Heat a skillet or grill pan until very hot.
Sear steak 2–4 minutes per side depending on thickness.
Optional Gordon Ramsay touch: Baste with butter, garlic cloves, and rosemary in the last minute.
4. Rest & Serve:
Rest the steak for 5 minutes after cooking.
Slice and serve with juices or a sprinkle of sea salt.
