Ingredients:

1 cup orange juice (preferably fresh)

1/4 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1/4 cup soy sauce

Optional (for thickness & flavor):

1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

1–2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

1/2 teaspoon chili flakes or sriracha (for a spicy kick)

Zest of 1 orange (for added citrus flavor)

1. Combine Ingredients:
In a saucepan over medium heat, mix together orange juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and soy sauce. Add garlic, ginger, and chili flakes if using.

2. Simmer:
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5–7 minutes to let the flavors blend.

3. Thicken (optional):
Stir in the cornstarch slurry and continue cooking for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens. Stir constantly to avoid lumps.

4. Finish & Serve:
Remove from heat. Taste and adjust sweetness, saltiness, or acidity as needed. Let cool slightly before using.
