Ingredients:

For the Fish:

4 white fish fillets (cod or haddock work well)

100g plain flour

2 eggs, beaten

150g breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Oil for shallow or deep frying

For the Dipping Sauce:

3 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon capers, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1. Prepare the Breading Station:

Set up three shallow bowls:

1. Flour seasoned with salt, pepper, and paprika

2. Beaten eggs

3. Breadcrumbs

 

2. Bread the Fish:

Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.

Dredge each fillet in the flour, shaking off the excess.

Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat well in breadcrumbs.

Press gently to help the breadcrumbs stick.

3. Fry the Fish:

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat (about 1/4 inch deep if shallow frying).

Once hot, carefully add the fish and fry for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Remove and place on a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil.

4. Make the Dipping Sauce:

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and chopped capers.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Chill until ready to serve.
