Ingredients:
4 black tea bags (or 4 tsp loose black tea)
4 cups water
1 cup cherry juice (unsweetened or sweetened, your choice)
1 cup frozen or fresh pitted cherries
1–2 tbsp honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional, for pie flavor)
Ice cubes
Lemon slices or mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Brew the tea:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the tea bags and steep for 5–7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let it cool.
2. Sweeten & flavor:
While tea is warm, stir in honey/sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix well and let it chill.
3. Prepare the cherry base:
In a small saucepan, add the cherries and a few tablespoons of water. Simmer on low for 5 minutes until soft. Mash slightly to release juices, then let cool.
4. Combine:
In a large pitcher, combine cooled tea, cherry juice, and mashed cherry mixture (you can strain if you prefer no bits). Stir well and refrigerate until chilled.
5. Serve:
Fill glasses with ice, pour in the cherry pie iced tea, and garnish with lemon slices or mint.
