Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 packet French onion soup mix

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 egg (optional, for binding)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional, for deeper flavor)

2 cups beef broth

1 large onion, thinly sliced (optional, for extra onion flavor)

1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons cold water (optional, for thickening)

1. Prepare Meatballs:

In a bowl, combine ground beef, soup mix, breadcrumbs, and egg (if using).

Mix until just combined. Don’t overwork the meat.

Shape into 1 to 1.5 inch meatballs.

 

2. Optional Browning (for richer flavor):

Quickly sear the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat just until browned on all sides. This step is optional.

 

3. Slow Cook:

Place sliced onions (if using) in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Add meatballs on top.

Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.

Cover and cook on Low for 4–6 hours or High for 2–3 hours.

 

4. Optional Thickening:

In the last 15–30 minutes of cooking, mix cornstarch and water, then stir it into the broth to thicken into a light gravy.
