Ingredients:
2 lbs (900g) round steak, cut into serving-size pieces
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Fresh parsley for garnish
Method:
Prepare Steak: Season steak pieces with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, shaking off excess.
Brown Steak: Heat oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Sear the steak pieces on both sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
Sauté Veggies: In the same pan, add onions and bell peppers. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
Make Sauce: Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir to combine.
Simmer Steak: Return steak to the pan, ensuring it’s submerged in the sauce. Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the steak is tender.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
