Ingredients
For the Ribs:
3 pounds baby back ribs (2 slabs)
2 onions, sliced
4 garlic cloves, sliced
Optional Rib Rub:
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp brown sugar
¾ tsp garlic powder
¾ tsp onion powder
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp lemon pepper
½ tsp salt (or to taste)
For the BBQ Sauce:
½ cup BBQ sauce
½ cup chili sauce
¼ cup ketchup
Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Ribs:
Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
Remove the white membrane from the back of the ribs and pat them dry.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, or the rib rub, massaging it into the meat.
2️⃣ Bake the Ribs:
Place ribs meat-side down on a foil-lined tray. Top with sliced onions and garlic.
Cover and seal the ribs tightly with another piece of foil.
Bake for 2 hours. Check for tenderness by pulling a small piece of meat; if not tender, bake for another 20–30 minutes.
3️⃣ Prepare the Sauce:
Mix BBQ sauce, chili sauce, and ketchup in a bowl.
4️⃣ Grill or Broil:
Remove ribs from the foil and discard the juices, onions, and garlic. Brush ribs with olive oil and generously coat with the BBQ sauce mixture.
Grill or broil over medium-high heat for 5–10 minutes until caramelized and sticky.
Serving Tip:
Serve these juicy ribs with a side of cornbread, coleslaw, or roasted veggies for a complete meal!
