Whisk together the Creole seasoning, paprika, onion powder, and black pepper. Set aside.
Cut the beef tenderloin into pieces about 1½ inches by 1 inch.
Place the steak bites, sliced mushrooms, 2 ½ tablespoons oil, and seasoning mix into a bowl.
Mix until the meat and mushrooms are well coated. Cover the bowl and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 ½ hours.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
Cook the steak bites in the air fryer in two batches at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 to 10 minutes. Make sure the beef is in a single layer with a little space between pieces to avoid steaming. Place mushrooms in and around the steak. Mushrooms can also be cooked separately at 400 degrees for 6 minutes.
Six minutes will yield steak that is more rare.
Ten minutes will yield medium-well steak.
Toss the cooked mushrooms and steak pieces with butter in a bowl. Sprinkle with extra Creole seasoning or salt if desired.
Serve with your choice of rice, roasted broccoli, noodles, Brussels sprouts, couscous, roasted carrots, or a green salad.
