1. Prepare the Veggies:

Heat 1 tbsp oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add onions, green peppers, and mushrooms (if using).

Sauté until soft and lightly caramelized, about 8–10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

2. Cook the Steak:

In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed.

Add thinly sliced steak, season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder (optional).

Cook until browned and just cooked through, about 3–4 minutes. Stir occasionally to avoid overcooking.

3. Combine & Melt:

Return the veggies to the pan with the steak.

Mix together and lay slices of cheese on top.

Cover the pan briefly to melt the cheese.

4. Toast the Rolls (Optional):

Split rolls and toast under a broiler or in a dry skillet for 1–2 minutes until lightly crisp.

5. Assemble the Sandwiches:

Spoon the cheesy steak and veggie mixture into the toasted rolls.

Serve hot with your favorite sides (fries, chips, or a cold drink).
